In this critical role, Slade will spearhead the coordination and growth of Bright Path Research projects. He brings extensive project management knowledge and over 30 years of engineering technical experience in the DoD and Aerospace communities. Slade also has extensive software and hardware design experience, having supported NASA and DoD since 2000.
Manager, BPR & Technical Fellow, Radiance
Dr. Peter G. Varmette, is an expert in nuclear physics, directed energy weapons, and defense intelligence. He has led over 30 nuclear physics experiments worldwide, advancing the understanding of atomic structures under extreme conditions. His research spans advanced propulsion systems, gamma-ray spectroscopy, and software development for data analysis.
As a former national expert at the Defense Intelligence Agency, he authored 33 intelligence reports, shaping military strategies and informing senior policymakers, including the White House. His expertise has contributed to U.S. Army laser hardening standards and supported warfighters with critical intelligence.
With extensive experience in system engineering, aircraft survivability, and advanced defense technologies, Dr. Varmette continues to drive innovation in national security. His work at BPR enhances rapid prototyping and cutting-edge solutions for defense, intelligence, and space applications.

TJ Wright brings a unique blend of operational and technological expertise to our leadership team. As a former Intelligence Officer, Green Beret, and Senior Acquisition Officer for our Nation's most classified Special Operations Units, TJ has a proven track record of delivering offset advantages to critical missions. He also served as the Program Manager for the Precision Strike Missile, the Chief of Staff of the Army's #1 Priority Program.
TJ has consistently demonstrated his ability to collaborate and innovate with the most cutting-edge technologies and teammates in high-stakes environments for the Department of Defense. His vision for Bright Path Research, rooted in extensive experience, is to bring agility and expertise to solve our nations challenges.
Chief Technology Officer, OSS
Lloyd Sanders is the Chief Technology Officer at OSS, where he has been an integral part of the team since year one. As a former US Army Infantry and Acquisition officer, Lloyd’s technical background includes extensive Special Operations technology development in Command, Control and Communications technologies, as well as management of several fleets of Army Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS) for special and intelligence customers.
With a strong focus on technology integration, Lloyd consistently collaborates with staff and capability managers to provide valuable insights, ensuring informed decision-making and seamless technological integration across all company operations. Working closely with the President, Chief Operating Officer, and other OSS staff, Lloyd's expertise guides the organization in leveraging technology to make a significant difference in the industry.
